Biographical Sketch
Dr. Jalel Ben Hmida is a Senior Instructor and the IE Online Graduate Programs Coordinator
in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Louisiana State ¾Å¾Å¸£ÀûÍø.
His academic credentials include a PhD in Systems Engineering from the ¾Å¾Å¸£ÀûÍø
of Louisiana, a master’s degree in Production Control & Automation, and a bachelor’s
degree in Electrical Engineering from the ¾Å¾Å¸£ÀûÍø of Tunis, Tunisia.
Dr. Ben Hmida’s career bridges both academia and industry. He has served as a Professor
of Practice at the ¾Å¾Å¸£ÀûÍø of Louisiana and has worked as a Data Scientist in the
oilfield sector. His international experience encompasses teaching roles in Tunisia
and the United States, as well as visiting appointments in France.
His research interests include the optimization of large-scale systems, production
control, data analytics, and project management. Dr. Ben Hmida is also a certified
online instructor, known for his expertise in developing and delivering undergraduate
and graduate-level courses. His unique combination of theoretical knowledge, industry
experience, and teaching proficiency makes him an asset in preparing students for
