Archaeologists co-author chapter on ancient Peruvian architecture
G&A professor and LSU alumnus (PhD, G&A, 2021) co-authored "Gathering Salinar Houses: Platforms-as-Assemblages in Ancient Coastal Peru" for the volume edited by Juan Carlos Moreno GarcÃa (2022, Oxbow Books). The chapter applies assemblage theory to the analysis of the construction and renovation of raised platforms by groups associated with Salinar, an archaeological phenomenon that emerged in several valleys of the north coast of Peru following the dissolution of the ChavÃn and Cupisnique influences around 500 BCE. Congratulations!
