Your children (ages 4-6) will love this hands-on outdoor experience as they explore the beautiful grounds at LSU鈥檚 Hilltop Arboretum. Hilltop鈥檚 14-acres is the perfect outdoor space to learn about plants and animal life. Kids will enjoy our trails, pond, trees and flowers. Camp is limited to 30 children.

Each day will focus on a nature theme and include:

Search and discover hikes
Playing in the dirt to plant seeds, study soil, or look for bugs
Art activities using natural materials
Outdoor games
Pond exploration
And much, much more
Campers need to bring their own snack, lunch, and drink daily. We highly recommend that you put sunscreen and insect repellent on your child before arrival.

Backyard Habitat Gardener is a get your hands in the dirt program that introduces children, ages 7-10, to natural habitats and allows them to explore the world through horticultural and environmental science activities. Campers will foster an appreciation for nature and nurture a sense of awe and wonder for the natural world. Our counselors are enthusiastic and experienced, but the real teacher at Hilltop is our most treasured resource, the land. It is Hilltop鈥檚 hope that we can encourage children to act in their own backyards and beyond!
