The National Institutes of Health has selected the LA CaTS Network, a partnership among several LSU campuses and other major Louisiana academic, research and healthcare institutions, for a $20 million grant for its work to make Louisiana healthier.

鈥�Strengthening biomedical research represents a foundational pillar of LSU鈥檚 Scholarship First commitment,鈥� said William F. Tate IV, LSU president. 鈥淭he LA CaTS Network鈥檚 research contributions align seamlessly with our broader research strategy, and this additional $20 million in NIH grant funding assures we can continue to improve Louisiana鈥檚 research infrastructure.鈥�

With eight institutions spanning Louisiana and all levels of higher education and research, LSU facilitates and promotes interdisciplinary research to meet the challenge of improving the state鈥檚 health outcomes head-on.
